1/Prologue;

For years, the village has been watched upon by the gryphon from his tower atop the nearby mountain; a menacing creature who since his appearance has threatened the villagers to obey his laws, and to deliver their goods to his home.

Next to travel to the tower is Melissa, a loyal young woman and passionate member of the community. This will be her first time across the fields.

Tired of her people living in constant fear of punishment, and their own food and supplies diminishing, Melissa is determined to confront the gryphon, with the hope that everyone may live in comfort once again.

Melissa sits now with a friend; a well-travelled senior member of the community, Bodo. In his stone house, he tells her of the importance of doing nothing suspicious along the way, and to stick to the obvious path, as the gryphon's malicious eyes watch carefully from his tower afar.

Melissa says goodbye to Bodo who is smoking his pipe by the fire, and before leaving to go outside and mount her horse, Burtie, she takes what may be her very last ever sip of tea...

2/Sticking to the Clear Path once Leaving Town, I Travel Fast Across the Fields...

3/Near the Entrance of the Forest I Meet a Creature Washing its Clothes, who tries to Lead me Astray...

4/Through the Forest I Feel Like I'm Being Watched, but I'm Not Sure by whom...

5/I Meet the Lonely Ferryman on the Other Side of the Forest, who Kindly Transports me Across the River...

6/Up Above and Through the Mist I See the Gryphon's Tower, but Between us First is the Mountain I Must Climb...

7/Closed Now are the Tower Doors, as I Ascend the Stairs to the Gryphon's Chamber...

8/Epilogue;

Melissa and Burtie are on their way back home across the fields; Melissa still hears clearly the gryphon's final cries since his plummet from the top of the tower, and down to the bottom of the mountain.

With good news to be shared with the village, she is most excited to be by the fire with her good friend Bodo, and a drink of tea.

Melissa looks to her hand; she holds a trophy she has decided to attach to her necklace as a pendant. This trophy, is none other than the gryphon's talon...

The tracks here were recorded from May 2018 and were finally completed February 2020. Demo versions of track 2 written and recorded in November 2017; tracks 3, 4, 5 and 6 during June - November 2018; tracks 1, 7 and 8 in March 2019.

All sounds performed by Gryphon's Talon and recorded with a microphone. All sounds heard are mostly FM synthesis, a little AWM2 synthesis, real drums, real cymbals, and an actual thunder storm that happened at home. Aaaaaand, the cat made a guest appEARance again! (Meows and brrrrts by Bugsy). Voice of Bodo performed by a friend who wishes not to be named.
